The third big air kitesurfing competition in Denmark is scheduled from 9 to 25 September. The Cold Hawaii Big Air 2022. That's right. Because at the annual Cold Hawaii Games in Denmark kitesurfing has also been added in 2020. And then big air where kite surfers pull out all the stops to jump as high as possible. Of course, the high jump must also be as extreme as possible due to tricks such as the mega run en double kiteloop in combination with one or even more tricks.
Update September 15, 2022 – Result
The wind increased to 45 knots or even more. Participants were on the water with 6, 7 and 8 meter kites and the tricks were extreme and breathtaking during the Cold Hawaii big air 2022. Many double kiteloop combinations were made. Even in combination with board-offs and a double contra kiteloop board-off. Much respect for the participants as well as for the kitesurf brands that make this possible.

Cold Hawaii wing foil open
The wing foil will also be kept open during Cold Hawaii 2022. The wingfoil competition is twofold. A race and a wave / freestyle expression contest. More information about the wingfoil competition can be found on the facebook page of Cold Hawaii Wing Foil Open.

18 participants can compete for the Cold Hawaii 2022 Big Air title in September. 8 kite surfers have already been invited. The other 12 have been selected on the basis of a kitesurfing video sent in. Below are the participants.

Looking back Cold Hawaii big air 2021
In 2021 Cold Hawaii big air was spectacular. The wind at sea blew up to 12 Beaufort to the spot Nørre Vorupør where the extreme big air kite surfers were waiting.
Some must have entered the water with their buttocks pinched. It cannot be otherwise in such extreme circumstances.
