We recently screened the entire wingsurf market. The result is a list of approximately 100 wingsurf brands who market or intend to market wingsurf and wingfoil material. Then our eye fell on Decathlon as well. Decathlon carries wingsurf boards from the SIC Maui brand. When we looked further, we also saw wingsuf and wingfoil material internationally; Decathlon wingsurf board, foil, wing and e-foil, from the brand Takuma. Since Decathlon does not have its own brands, it is not on the list of brands. But it is clear that Decathlon is also adding material for wing surfing and wing foils to the range.

Decathlon Orao Kite

We have previously written about the review of the Decathlon Orao Kite. With a price of 750 Euro for a 9 meter, this kite is one of the cheapest kites on the market. This can be quite attractive for kite surfers with a small budget. Interestingly, there are now more kitesurf brands are those that offer a 9 meter around that price range.

Decathlon wingsurf and wingfoil and Takuma

Decathlon has its own water sports crew with enthusiasts. They have selected the 100% foil brand Takuma for wing surfing and wing foiling. Decathlon includes the Takuma BK900 boards and Takuma Pro Foil foils in its range. Of 3 sizes each, so that's a good basis. The Takuma wingsurf boards are priced from 599 Euro and the foils from 499 Euro. View the wingfoil boards on Decathlon.nl.

Decathlon Wing Takuma WK900

In order to be able to offer complete sets with which wing surfers and wing foiles can take to the water, Decathlon also sells wings. Takuma has also been selected for the wing with the Takuma World Championship. It is also available in 3 sizes: 3.2, 4.3 and 5.2 meters. The price of a wing starts at 540 Euro for the 3.2 meter. Decathlon e-foil

To top it all off, the e-foils are also included in the range. Really a different story, of course, because with the e-foil you are not dependent on the wind. The e-foil is electrically driven by a small screw.

Takuma convinced: foiling is the future

Takuma believes that foiling is the future of board water sports. This image is currently quite widely supported. Firstly because of the rush of new ones wingfoil marks and brands that indicate that they will step in this season. Second, we see the water sports on the Olympics switching to foils. Think of it kitefoiling and the windsurf RS: X class which is being replaced by the iQfoil. In addition, we see sailing switch to a kind of formula-1 class with foils. State-of-the-art sailing boats that reach speeds of almost 100 km / h.

Prices are competitive but get advice

One thing is certain for the Decathlon wingsurf board, foil, wing and e-foil range. Decathlon's prices are very competitive with other brands. Whether for a wingsurf board, a wing foil board, a foil, a wing or even an e-foil. Prices are competitive.

Take a lesson and get advice

We give a tip before you start one of these cool sports. The same applies for this as for kite surfing itself: read the manual to buy material. Give it a try by taking a few lessons. Is it something for you and do you feel comfortable getting started yourself or with a buddy? Then let yourself be well informed by your instructor or one of the shops. We hope that Decathlon will also pay attention to this. Our position is that it is not sports to start without supervision.

    1. That information was still missing and we are also trying to find out via Decathlon and Takuma. Maybe you can tell us a bit more about it?
