World Sailing Council
The World Sailing Council (WSC) has confirmed two kitesurfing competitions. One during the annual World Youth Sailing Championships from 2021 in The Hague (Netherlands). And one during the 2022 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar (Senegal).
Race format world championships
The Kitesurfing World Championships will have the same character and format as the 2024 Olympics in Paris. This is a relay race. In it, kite surfers compete against each other in mixed teams. So per country one man and woman who together form one team. The Formula material used to surf for the medals meets strict criteria. This is to create a level playing field for all teams.

In addition, we can report that there has recently been a registration for the Formula kitesurfing equipment. The kitesurfing industry and suppliers could participate in this.
