Several world and national speed records were broken during the annual Prince of Speed. At world level this time not for kitesurfing. Well for kite foils and wing foils. The wingfoil speed record is indeed fast but with a wink. Someone had to be the first with the official measurement. How cool is it that this is in the name of organizer Principe Baldini. With this he gives the starting signal to surpass this record. Watch the highlights of Prince of Speed 2021.

Forever Speed for Principle Baldinic

The man behind Prince of Speed is an avid 'speed' windsurfer Principle Baldinic. Feel free to call him 'mister forever speed'. After all, Principle has been around for a while and can't get enough of it. In addition, Principe has a number of speed records to his name. It is a legend in the world of windsurfing speed. A man we often see on facebook with a smile and full of passion and energy.

Really strong wind did not stop

The perceived temperature at the beginning of the summer was much lower than usual and the wind was not as strong as usual. The expected wind speeds of 90 km/h did not materialize and about 60 km/h remained.

As a result, speed windsurfers such as Antione Albeau, David Garrel, Rob Douglas, Vincent Valkenaers, Heidi Ulrich, Katsuro Nagai were unable to break their records. Sufyan Setti did manage to set the new Algerian windsurf record for one nautical mile on June 6, with an average average speed of 32.67 knots (60.50 km/h).

Kitesurfing: record not broken

The record is the result of a neck-and-neck race with Thomas Lombardo averaging 31.92 knots (59.12 km/h) over one nautical mile. The 14-year-old Enzo Pineiro reached no less than 30.14 knots.
