Speed kite surfing competition - Movie 64 km / h. You can win

speed kite surfing record

Kitesurfing at speed is something that attracts us enormously. However, we never really made a point of it by, for example, purchasing a special speed-oriented kiteboard. Fast kite surfing is quite a thing because speed on the water seems faster than on land. Our experience is also that a certain adrenaline is released when you really go fast. Anyway, you either have something with it or you don't.

Speed kite surfing record at 64 km / h

Last year I let my set run nicely with the GoPro on which has a GPS function. In this way the speed can also be measured. Maybe not 100% reliable, but at least it's fixed. My speed peaked at 64 miles per hour. My idea is that this is about the maximum with normal kitesurfing equipment.

World record at 107.36 km / h

Alexandre Caizergues is world record holder when it comes to it 'speed kitesurfing record'. The French kite surfer broke his own record in 2017 with a speed of 57.97 knots over a distance of 500 meters. This is 107.36 km / h. The measurement took place during the Salt and Speed event at Salin-de-Giraud in France. Caizergues now wants to break through the 150 km / h barrier with Syroco. This is a six meter long fish-shaped capsule that is pulled by a kite.
