Everyone is talking about Young guns. Think of the boys who dominate the International scene (Kevin Langeree, Aaron Halow, etc.) These men are constantly being pushed back by those so-called young guns.
But what has actually become of the men who made the sport many years ago? Old guns: names like Flash Austin, Lou Wainman.
You can see that these riders (Old guns) are usually too old (unfortunately) to compete in the highest freestyle area. (PKRA) Full sponsorship is therefore usually difficult.
However, in some cases they are still very involved in the kitesurfing sport. A trend is that many men from the past are going to set up their own kite brand. Everyone knows Robby Naish of course. But recently you also hear more about Wainman kiteboarding. He takes an old gun with him in his new kite brand. His name is Franz Olry. Another old gun is Martin Vari. Martin is apparently going to set up his own brand. The site is already online, but with only a contact button and little info.

Swis or Chris, why do you put your name as Swis in a wainman hawaii kite “review” on hanglos.nl, while you are simply affiliated with wainman hawaii?
And then again a press release like “wainman hawaii nederland”, then again slis aka wainman hawaii that has to repeat 100 times that a man with a cap, olry, is coming to NL, great .. if you still want to keep your brand in the spotlight Then just play open card and work either from 1 profile or add that you work for a brand, this way you avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, which is a shame on an otherwise good site like hanglos ...
