Water sports association and Kitesurfing
De Dutch Kitesurf Association (NKV) is affiliated with it Royal Dutch Water Sports Association (KNWV hereafter called Watersportverbond) to sit at the table with the (local) government as a serious discussion partner. The Watersportverbond has about 114.000 members, the NKV about 1.500. Part of the contribution paid by the members of the NKV is paid to the Watersportverbond. For this, the members receive a Watersportverbond Members' Card (National Sportpas) from the Watersportverbond with which all kinds of discounts can be obtained.
Water Sports Association
The main goal that the Watersporverbond pursues is that the motor boatman, the surfer and the sailor can enjoy themselves on the water.
The chairman of the Watersportverbond, Hugo Snoekc, stated when the Watersportverbond Membership Card 2008 was presented that he is extremely happy. On the one hand because he was elected chairman and on the other hand because of the plans approved by the majority.
volunteers
Hugo is very enthusiastic about the passion and commitment of the more than 200 volunteers who, together with the 24 professionals in the office, do a lot of work for us water sports enthusiasts. They get things done for us, as we have also described about the NKV volunteers. These men are by no means always in the spotlight after a successful success and they also do too little to pat themselves on the back.
Discussion partner and themes
The Watersportverbond is a discussion partner at all important consultations and in all sectors where water sports is an issue. This involves hundreds of projects, including projects near you! A few examples of themes of the Watersportverbond in a row:
- Natura 2000 (a threat to large areas of sailing and (kite) surfing water);
- Wind farms at sea (a threat to sea sailors);
- Zoning of kite surfing;
- Pointed closures of bridges and locks.
