Review kitesurf kites Big Air Test

Wevery 2020 Big Air kites are best suited to go high? It is a fact that Big Air is growing in popularity again. On nice days with enough wind you see more and more kite surfers jumping high ('Big Air') and doing beautiful stylish tricks ('Air Style'). Kitesurfing has something for everyone, but the kick of a cool and high jump remains enormous for many kite surfers.

The range of kites to jump high in 2020 is enormous. We also see that this line continues now that the 2021 kites suitable for Big Air are on the market. For example, read the kite blog about the Airush Elevator. In it Gijs Wassenaar shows how high and far he goes. Our eye fell on a review kitesurfmag.com in which a number of kites have been tested for Big Air properties. These kites are suitable for more styles than just Big Air, but it is still interesting to read how the test panel views these kites in the context of Big Air. Especially if you are orienting yourself for a kite to jump high with, the review is highly recommended.

Tested Big Air kites

- North Orbit
- Core Starship XR6
- Duotone Rebel
- Ozone Edge
- Slingshot Raptor
- Cabrinha AV8
- Naish Pivot
- Eleveight RS

Please read the specific test findings carefully (from page 84). A generic comment from the test panel is that the tested kites are all more user-friendly than in the past. This should boost the confidence of kite surfers to jump high and stay in the air longer. The kites do respond quickly, but all are reliable and the pulling power can always be properly dosed.

Do you have good experience with one or more Big Air kites that is not included in the list. Feel free to share it in response. Experience with the mentioned kites is of course also welcome.

  1. Dear,
What certainly fits in this list is the eleveight xs. Specially designed to break altitude records.
The European record was recently broken by Stijn Koster 33,3m with this kite😉👌
    Grtz
