2009 Naish shift bar review

Differences from the Naish Shift control bar 2008/2009.

The new kite gear for the year 2009 is arriving. We have a short impression put on the site of the first Naish gear 2009 test day of Eurofuncenter. Now it is time to take a closer look at the new products. We start with Naish's 2009 shift control bar.

The Naish shift bar has the smartloop again this year. This means that the depower option is included with the barrel. So no more use is made of a strap. It requires some skill, but the system contributes to a bar with rider simplicity.

The grip of the bar is coarser and there are waves in the bar so that it lies comfortably in the hand. The finish of the bar is rougher and has more grip. The 2008 bar is smoother. A small detail difference is that the 5th line is yellow this year.

The bar ends have changed for the first time in years. They have a different shape and the piece of foam to protect the hands is longer. Adjusting any unevenness of the steering lines or trimming the kite is done under the foam grips. These have to be moved to get to the setting option.

The 2008 bar was on any size kite, 20 inches. The 2009 bar can be adjusted to 21 or 19 inches.
