Slufter remains accessible

Below is a message from regional representative for the region of Oostvoorne and the Slufter, Andre Knulst, of the Dutch Kitesurf Association (NKV).

During the previous post we discussed the fact that dredging will be carried out on the Slufter from 1 September. A number of questions immediately arose, including the question of whether we can still visit the Slufter after 1 September.

“We spoke to the project team today about our proposal and the request to study the possibilities to what extent our spot remains accessible during the construction of Maasvlakte2. This request and proposal have been discussed with the contract manager. While studying the planning, it was promised that the Slufter will remain accessible in 2009 at least. In October I have a meeting with the project team to see what options there are after 2009, so the impact is less disastrous as we have thought. ”
"I am hopeful that we can continue sailing around the construction!"

  1. For the time being, therefore, still loose coming autumn and winter, but once the work has started, we will have to take into account a metamorphosis of the Sluf. Accessible okay… .kite-able is something else and we'll have to wait and see.

  2. Good news .. Last Sunday 150 people on the slufter, 150 on the car beach, 10 on the sandbanks, 20 on rockanje .. Every reason to be happy ..!
