Kitesurfing ban Bergen, Egmond, ..

Kitesurfing prohibited in the summer months on the beaches of Bergen, Egmond, Hargen, Camperduin and Schoorl. See the message below from the Dutch Kitesurf Association (NKV).

Through this announcement, the NKV wants to make everyone who kites on these beaches aware that there is a ban on these beaches for the summer period. The summer period runs until October 1.

Inspectors from the municipality of Bergen enforce the kite ban. Anyone who ignores this ban risks the risk of getting fined. The main reason for enforcement is to guarantee public safety and the associated liability of the municipality.

It was intended that the new beach bill drawn up for the start of this 2008 beach season would be adopted. However, this will only take effect due to additions to the beach bill 2009 coming into effect. As soon as the beach bill has been amended, kite surfing will be included as an activity in the APV and kite surfing is legal from that moment on at the designated period / places.

The important information for kite surfing from the beach note:
- The summer period: May 1 - Oct 1, kite surfing is allowed on the
activity beaches.
- The winter period: Oct 2 - April 30, kite surfing is allowed everywhere.

Finally, an overview of the zones in which kite surfing is allowed in the 2009 beach bill:
Activity zones: beach pole marking start - end

Egmond aan Zee: 38.6 - 40.2
