Due to the great success of last year, Jumpteam Scheveningen is organizing the O'Neill Downwinder again on September 20, with October 4 as the departure date.

In the morning the participants gather at Jumpteam Scheveningen. Then there is bus transport to the start, the Hoekse WaterSport Association in Hoek van Holland.
After a kite clinic about safety and self-rescue, the participants can start per team or individually. If the wind comes from the north, the start will be at Jumpteam Scheveningen and there will be bus transport from the Hoekse WaterSport Association back to Jumpteam Scheveningen.

Photo shots

During the event, there will be photographers at various places on the beach and in the water who will capture all the beautiful moments on camera. Prizes can be won for the best participant, the best photographer and best dressed team.

The Organisation

Jumpteam Scheveningen, the Hoekse WaterSport Association, the rescue brigade and Watersport Scheveningen are involved in the organization of this event. Obviously, the O'Neill Downwinder would not be possible without the cooperation and support of O'Neill Netherlands.

The program

The weather is ultimately decisive for both the date and the program times. The event will take place when the organization decides circumstances allow it. On the Thursday before the event, participants will be informed by email. Current information can also be found at www.jumpteam.nl.

Loading the bus: 09:30 am
Departure of the bus: 10:00 am
Skippers meeting: 11:00 am
Safety clinic: 11:30 am
Start 1st group: 12:00 PM
BBQ: 17:00 pm
Award ceremony: 20:00 pm
After Party: 21:00 PM

* Participants can also register with the Hoekse WatersportVereniging. They are then responsible for transport themselves.

Participation conditions
Participants must:

• To have good kite skills at sea (at least 1 year of kitesurfing experience at sea) and good self-reliance
• To have own (in good condition) kite material, suitable for 15-25 knots with good working safety
• Be over 18 years old (or with handwritten proof of parental consent)
• To have a fully completed liability statement
